What this is
MyGolfPractice is a small, independently-run tool for logging golf practice. This page explains what information is collected, who can see it, and how to remove your data if you'd rather not use the app anymore.
What we collect
- Your email address, used to create and secure your account.
- Practice data you enter yourself: drills, session scores, notes, personal records (ball speed, club head speed, course scores), and any dates attached to them.
- If you invite a coach, or accept a coaching request, that connection and any drills assigned to you.
- Anything you submit through the in-app Feedback form.
- Basic, anonymous usage analytics via Google Analytics (which pages are visited, roughly how often) — this does not include your practice data or account details.
Who can see your data
- You. Always, and only you, unless you take one of the actions below.
- A coach you've explicitly invited or accepted — and only after that connection is confirmed on both sides. A coach can see your drills, sessions, and personal records, and can assign you drills. They cannot edit your past sessions, and they lose access if the connection is removed.
- Any other user of the app, but only for a specific drill score you've explicitly chosen to add to that drill's leaderboard. Nothing is shared this way automatically — it requires tapping "Add to leaderboard" yourself, drill by drill. A leaderboard shows a display name you choose (not your email) alongside your score. You can remove any score from a leaderboard at any time.
- Chris Berry, as the person running the app, for the purpose of maintaining it, responding to feedback, and fixing bugs. Your practice data is not reviewed routinely, shared with anyone else, or used for anything beyond keeping the app working.
What we don't do
- We don't sell your data, to anyone, ever.
- We don't show ads, and we don't share your data with advertisers.
- We don't use your practice data for anything other than showing it back to you (and your coach, if you have one).
Where it's stored
Your data is stored in a managed database (Supabase) with access controls that restrict every row to its owner — technically enforced, not just a policy on paper. Emails are sent via a transactional email provider (Resend) solely for account confirmation and password resets.
Your data, your call
You can delete your account at any time from within the app (Account → Delete my account). This permanently removes your account and everything attached to it — drills, sessions, personal records, coach connections, and feedback — immediately and without a recovery option. If you'd like a copy of your data before deleting it, use the Feedback button to ask and it'll be sent to you.
Passkeys and passwords
If you use a passkey to sign in, the cryptographic key itself never leaves your device — we only ever store a public key that can verify it's you, not anything that could be used to impersonate you. Passwords are never stored in plain text.
